Health & Safety Policy

Policy Statement

W2W Solutions Ltd is committed to safeguarding the health, safety and welfare of our employees, visitors to our premises, and anyone affected by our business activities. We endeavour to:

  • provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities,
  • consult with and update our employees on issues affecting their health and safety,
  • ensure that all equipment is suitable for its intended use and is properly maintained and used,
  • provide appropriate information, instruction and supervision for employees and visitors (including fire and evacuation, first aid and accident procedures etc),
  • ensure all employees are competent to carry out tasks required, and give them adequate training,
  • prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health, and
  • maintain safe and healthy working conditions.
  
We will maintain Safe Working Practice documents covering anticipated work activities to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all employees* and anyone affected by our business activities, are safeguarded at all times.

Responsibilities

The Director has overall responsibility for the implementation of this policy and will:

  • conduct risk assessments as required and take forward resulting actions.
  • consult directly with employees on Health & Safety related matters through communication meetings, telephone and email as befitting the issues arising.
  • maintain a record of equipment including dates of last visual checks to ensure that equipment is appropriately maintained. 
  • take all other actions to ensure that the legal requirements of Health & Safety are met, seeking professional advice as appropriate.  

All employees* are responsible for adhering to company Health & Safety policies and Safe Working Practices, and to comply with all reasonable instructions in this area.  

Employees* and visitors** are responsible for taking reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others, not interfering with any health and safety equipment, and reporting all concerns to the Director in a timely manner.

Employees* who fail to follow the company policies and Safe Working Practices, or behave in a reckless manner that causes danger to others or damage to company property, will be subject to the company disciplinary procedure.

The latest Health & Safety Law pocket card will be issued to employees* upon joining the company and this will be readily accessible at all times.

Advice on all health and safety issues should be sought from the Director who will liaise with the Health & Safety Executive and other professionals as appropriate.

All employees* will be provided with training on the Health & Safety Policy and practices of the company at induction and will receive regular updates on Health & Safety issues from the Director. In addition employees may receive formal training on lone working and other Health & Safety related issues as appropriate to their job role in line with the company Training and Development Plan.

Monitoring & Review

The Director will monitor the implementation of this Policy on an ongoing basis by maintaining appropriate records to monitor Health & Safety issues e.g. accidents, sickness etc; and undertaking risk assessments as befits the nature and changing needs of the business, taking action to remove/ control risks as necessary. 

The Director will review this Policy on an annual basis to ensure it remains relevant and effective.


* The term “employee” refers to direct employees of W2W Solutions Ltd, associate consultants and others who support us in delivering our service.
** The term “visitor” refers to any person who enters any of our premises and / or any customer or their representative who is attending a workshop or event for which we are solely responsible.
