Youth Contract Preferred Bidders

The preferred bidders for the Youth Contract have finally been announced.

The Youth Contract requires providers to tailor support to meet the needs of 16-17 year old NEETs with no GCSEs at A*-C.  It aims to improve their experience, qualifications and give them a better chance of moving into employment. The successful organisations will work with local authorities to target those young people in their area who will benefit most, fitting this programme with other provision on offer locally.

Participants will get a wide range of support and take part in projects, for example:

  • Being supported to apply for education and training courses and jobs.
  • Participation in projects focusing on a range of activities, such as skills training and improving literacy and numeracy. Intensive mentoring and personal support on areas such as personal finance, health and wellbeing.

The names of the successful bidders and their supply chain can strangely be found on the Deputy Prime Minister's website, which also heralds this as the Deputy Prime Minister's Youth Contract - not the government, or the coalition? The site also gives a very brief high level synopsis of the approach of each bidder.

W2W Solutions is very proud to have worked with Groundwork UK on developing and producing their three successful bids, and wish them well in achieving a successful outcome for NEETs across Manchester & Cheshire, East Midlands, Merseyside, Lancashire & Cumbria.
