Work Programme Transition

DWP have written to Providers with an update on extension arrangements for existing provisions.  There has been nothing published on the DWP website yet but the letter to providers reads:.

Extension to Last Referrals for New Deal, Private Sector Led New Deal, Employment Zones, Community Task Force and Flexible New Deal and possible extensions to Progress2Work contracts

I wrote to you in January to inform you that we were extending New Deal provision to the end of June 2011, aligning the contract end dates with those of Flexible New Deal. Referrals to all elements of provision would stop at the end of March 2011.

Since then we have had a number of representations from providers and others and have clarified how we intend to support our customers during transitions.  As such, we now aim to continue existing provision for JSA customers until the Work Programme begins.

We therefore intend to further extend the last date for referrals to New Deal, Private Sector Led New Deal, Employment Zones and Flexible New Deal to 1 June 2011 (excluding Gateway to Work).

We will also be extending Progress2Work contracts, taking in consideration current performance when agreeing the extensions.  We will be in touch shortly to discuss outcome volumes for this 3 month extension, which as a starting point will be based on half of those agreed for the previous 6 months extension.

We are very grateful for your continued support and I hope you will be able to continue to work with us during this further extension period.  We will of course follow this notification with more detail and with the formal variation process.

Keep an eye on the DWP website for full guidance, which we imagine will be released in the next couple of weeks.
