DWP have released the results of the Personal Independence Payments (PIP) framework tendering exercise.
PIP will replace Disability Living Allowance in April 2013 and aims to reduce the existing DLA bill by 20%. DLA recipients have a wide range of illnesses and disabilities including cancer, spinal injury, mental health problems and learning disability, with the allowance often being used to pay for equipment and mobility aids, travel costs, and expenses related to specific medical conditions.
The framework organisations who will be able to compete for a PIP contract are:
Scotland, North East England, North West England and Isle of Man:
Wales, Central England:
London, South England:
A4e has been highlighted widely for its absence in the framework providers' list, and Atos, who have come in for heavy criticism for their management of the Work Capability Assessments.
