New Enterprise Allowance

Names such as Wenta,  Blue Orchid Management Consultants Ltd, Business in the Community, local Enterprise Agencies, Chambers of Commerce and councils appear alongside familiar names such as A4e, Ixion Holdings Ltd, Avanta and Pinnacle People as those organisations successful in gaining funding to support delivery of the New Enterprise Allowance across the country.

NEA provides JSA customers who have been claiming for 26 weeks or more with access to a volunteer business mentor (managed by the successful bidders listed above) who will support them through the early months of trading. The financial support available through NEA provides a £65 a week allowance for 13 weeks and £33 a week for a further 13 weeks.  Participants may also be able to access to a loan of up to £1,000 from 6 approved Loan Service Providers.

Not all JCP districts have an NEA provider in place at the moment.  Find a full list of NEA providers on the DWP website.
