NCFE Training Provider Event (South)

Awarding Body NCFE, are hosting an event for their private training providers on 9 July 2009 at the Hotel Du Vin, Henley-on-Thames.  The event gives providers who are already working with NCFE the chance to meet up and find out about latest developments, but is also an opportunity for providers who are not yet delivering NCFE qualifications to find out what NCFE have to offer.

The event, being hosted by Andrew Tollett (Business Development for Private Training Providers in the South of England), is aimed at senior staff and curriculum planners and will include presentations from business and product development managers about new NCFE qualifications for 2009 and QCF update, as well as a presentation about funding priorities and opportunities from the NCFE Policy Officer.

But if that isn't enough to tempt you ... how about the opportunity to network while taking a scenic cruise down the Thames in the company of a wine expert to guide you through tastings and offer a look into the world of wine, before returning to the Hotel Du Vin for dinner.  And this is all free of charge!  But book quick - places are limited.

For more information visit the NCFE website.

While you're on the website, we would heartily recommend that you download some of the product brochures and information about NCFE, including how to become an accredited centre if you aren't already.  The range of information on the site is excellent, and it is delivered in a really friendly and accessible way.  Having recently met a couple of their key managers, we can confirm that the friendliness extends to the people who work there as well, and they strive for exceptional standards of customer service.

Welfare to Work providers may be interested in two services that NCFE offer which can accredit your own training.  The Customised Award allows NCFE to accredit and certificate bespoke courses which fall outside their normal portfolio.  They also offer an Investing in Quality (IIQ) licence designed to give formal recognition of your organisation’s own training. The licence is based on 6 Quality Statements which provide a framework for the development, delivery and evaluation of learning activities.

We think these are both services which the Welfare to Work sector could make good use of, particularly for added value training they provide.  We'll have more on the IIQ in a future news item, but in the meantime you can find details on NCFE's website

We hope to see you on the Thames in a couple of weeks!
