LLUK to go

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has announced that Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK), the Sector Skills Council for lifelong learning is not going to be re-licencsed and will transfer core elements of its work to other organisations.  The inference is that LLUK is too costly for the role it fills.

LLUK will remain in place until 31 March 2011.  It isn't yet clear who will take over the roles that LLUK have filled to date.
