Latest Work Programme Statistics

DWP have now released the data on referrals and attachments to the Work Programme up to and including April 2012. The statistical release shows that 738,000 people were referred to the Work Programme from June 2011 to April 2012, of which 693,000 (94%) have been attached.

W2W Solutions has produced some basic data (using DWP's Tabulation Tool) regarding the CPA, Provider and Local Authority breakdown by payment groups.  Key findings from the data (click here for our spreadsheet) are:

  • Overall numbers of attachments have dropped considerably, with an average of around 58k per month in the February to April quarter, compared to an average of nearly 65k to period ending January 2012.
  • The proportion of JSA early entrant participants saw a 6% increase in the February to April period, while JSA 25+ group saw a drop of 9%.
  • ESA Volunteers accounted for 2.7% of the throughflow during the final three months compared to1.1% in the period to January 2012, although the proportion of New ESA Claimants saw a 1% decrease.

The spreadsheet also shows the market share that each provider organisation has achieved across all of their Work Programme contracts.  This has remained fairly static with A4e seeing the biggest variance in their market share with a 0.5% increase.

The number of referrals by Local Authority area may also be of interest to some of you.

There is little of any great significance in the data and we eagerly await the outcome information that should be released in the autumn.
