DWP are Back!

Not that they'd really been anywhere, but bidding opportunities have just been announced on the DWP website (click here), based on progressing the White Paper on Welfare Reform Raising expectations and increasing support: reforming welfare for the future.

They are looking for “innovative” organisations to deliver (or oversee the delivery of) quality provision. There aren’t actually any contracts being offered, just future opportunities, but at least things have started moving again.

Opportunities for the future include:

 
  • Flexible New Deal phase 2
  • Improving Disability Employment Advisory Services (IDEAS) - tailored individual packages
  • Progress to Work / Link up - merging two existing programmes to offer personalised additional support for customers such as recovering drug and alcohol misusers, homeless people or ex-offenders to help them to move into work. Pilots will also be run for drug users.
  • Work for Your Benefits” pilots - tailored, full-time activity for people who finish fND without finding sustained work.
  • AME/DEL pilots - five regions to test possible new financing agreements to help long-term incapacity claimants back to work.
  • Personalised Employment Programme - two pilot areas offering a single, integrated, flexible employment programme for JSA and ESA claimants.
  • JCP Support Contract - vocational and personal development services
  • ESF Contracts - new opportunities to 2013
