Adult Learners Week 2009

Now in its 18th year, Adult Learners Week (ALW) is the UK's largest learning campaign, designed to encourage adults, whatever their age and background, to give learning a go.

From 9 to 15 May 2009, the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE), is leading the way once again to promote education and training for adults, provide access to information and guidance, motivate adults to participate in learning opportunities and celebrate the learning achievements of adult learners through regional and national awards.

Events will be taking place across the country, and you can find out what is happening near you by visiting the Adult Learners Week website  http://www.niace.org.uk/ALW/2009.   Cafes, shops, museums, libraries, prisons, and colleges will be hosting events including taster sessions, workshops, open days and other opportunities to get involved in learning - there is something for everyone.

The website includes a learner zone with lots of information and guidance, as well as information for training providers and employers.  It's not too late to get involved!
